Masahiro Chono came out and welcomed the crowd, he told them that there was going to be a change of plans.
He said tonight the WWA World Heavyweight Champion, Steve “Danger” Elliot would go toe to toe with former World
Heavyweight Champion, and current WWA All Asian Heavyweight Champion, Robert “Blayze” Bayley. He said that would
leave Togi Makabe without a match and without his shot at the title. He assured that Makabe would get his shot, but the WWA
felt Bayley deserved his shot at the title and he got it. Togi Makabe will now be added to the NJPW Heavyweight Championship
match. It is now going to be a three way elimination style match up when Yuji Nagata will take on former WWA World Light Heavyweight
Champion, Naomichi Marufuji. Chono says it’s time to get to the opening match up. Match 1 David Bollea Vs. YAMATO This was a good opener for the fans, YAMATO eventually used a “Dragon sleeper” to make David Bollea
pass out. Match 2 NJPW Jr. Heavyweight Championship Hiroshi Tanahashi © Vs. Yoshi Tatsu Yoshi Tatsu was working his way to gold, however Tanahashi was a veteran of the sport. Tanahashi used the
“Bridging Dragon Suplex” to put Tatsu away. Match 3 Masayuki Kono Vs. Hirooki Goto This was a good battle, being three matches in the fans were good and amped up, both men put on an excellent
battle but Goto used a Cross - legged cradle to defeated Kono. Match 4 Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Mystery Partner Vs. Jado and Gedo Chono came out as Tenzans partner and the crowd went absolutely crazy. Both men had been partners before so
this tag match was a treat to the 40,000 fans. Chono got the win for his team when he used the STF onto Jado. Match 5 Kenzo Suzuki Vs. Black Tiger V The former World Light Heavyweight Champion had his hands full in this match. However these two would wrestle
to a time limit draw. Before the next match a masked man would attack Togi Makabe back stage. Match 6 NJPW Heavyweight Championship - Three Way Elimination Match Yuji Nagata © Vs. Togi Makabe Vs. Former WWA World Light Heavyweight Champion, Naomichi Marufuji Makabe never made it to the ring due to being attacked, this left a singles match up to take place. Marufuji
is small but he went after Nagata ready to gain the title. The fans were into this match because it featured to great wrestlers.
Marufuji defeated Black Tiger V to win the Light Heavyweight Championship, however he lost it to Funaki and now he is going
for the Heavyweight title of New Japan. Marufuji would use a perfect inside cradle, but Nagata kicked out. He then hit the
“Pole Shift” and Nagata would kick out yet again/. Yuji Nagata came back in this out of control match up, when
Suzuki ran down to the ring and attacked Nagata, That’s when Black Tiger V came down. Chono would come back out and
schedule at the next show a tag team match up. He said it would be Yuji Nagata and Black Tiger V taking on Marufuji and Kenzo
Suzuki. Match 7 WWA All Asian Tag Team Championship Shinsuke Nakamura and Koji Kanemoto © Vs. No Limit (Tetsuya Naitō and Yujiro Takahashi) (NJPW Tag Team Champions) The fans were really excited about this tag team match. Shinsuke and Koji were at the top of their game, however
No Limit wanted the All Asian Tag titles as much as any team. Nakamura and Kanemoto retained the titles when Nakamura used
a Death Valley Driver onto Tetsuya Naito. He got him up again and put him on the second rope turnbuckle and hit the “Land
Slide”. That was the end of the bout when he got the pin fall. Match 8 WWA World Shoot Fight Championship “The Outlaw” Jesse Evans © Vs. Masato Tanaka This was a vicious battle between both competitors. Jesse Evans would make Tanaka pass out after using a “Triangle
Choke Hold”. Semi Main Event WWA World Cruiserweight Championship Vs. WWA World Light Heavyweight Championship - Unification Match Up Bryan Danielson Vs. Masakatsu Funaki This was an excellent match up, the Japanese fans were all behind Funaki hoping that he would win the title
unification. Danielson was well known in Japan after doing a couple tours, however he wasn’t the fan favorite in this
battle. There was a lot of submission moves and a lot of technical stuff going on. Eventually the “American Dragon”
would use a “Triangle Choke” hold to put Funaki away and become the Unified WWA World Cruiserweight/Light Heavyweight
Champion. Following the match New Japan Pro Wrestling Junior Heavyweight Champion would hit the ring and told Danielson he
was coming for his title belt. Main Event WWA World Heavyweight Championship Steve “Danger” Elliot © Vs. Robert “Blayze” Bayley (WWA All Asian Heavyweight Champion) The Main Event was really hyped up, both men have a huge draw all over the World and really bring a lot to
the table. Elliot, current champion is trying to hold onto his desired World Heavyweight title, while Robert Bayley is just
trying to get back into the whole picture. Being current All Asian Heavyweight Champion has really elevated himself especially
after Angle held the belt for so long. However Angle took off to ROH, leaving Bayley to hold the All Asian title. The crowd
thought it was over after Bayley hit the “Blayze Bomb” however that was not the end of the match, because Elliot
would kick out. Elliot had enough and would walk out on the match after grabbing his title and would be counted out. Bayley
was in shock and the show was over. |
